Job Summary
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Ground Expedite Dispatcher to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for coordinating and managing the dispatch of ground sprinter vans, box trucks or straight trucks for expedited shipments. This role requires quick decision-making, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Dispatch Coordination: Manage and coordinate the dispatch of drivers and vehicles for expedited freight shipments, ensuring timely pickups and deliveries.
- Routing and Scheduling: Develop and optimize routing plans to maximize efficiency and minimize transit times. Communication: Maintain constant communication with drivers, customers, and internal teams to provide real-time updates and address any issues that arise during transit.
- Problem-Solving: Quickly identify and resolve any operational challenges, such as traffic delays, vehicle breakdowns, or changes in customer requirements.
- Customer Service: Provide exceptional customer service by addressing inquiries, resolving complaints, and keeping customers informed about the status of their shipments.
- Safety Compliance: Monitor and enforce safety protocols and regulations to ensure the well-being of drivers and the integrity of the shipments.
- Experience: Experience in dispatching, US logistics, or a related field. Experience with expedited freight services is a preferred.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent. A degree in logistics, transportation management, or a related field is preferred.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Proficiency in dispatching software and Google Workspace
- Ability to work under pressure and make quick decisions
- Knowledge of transportation regulations and safety standards
- Availability: Willingness to work during PDT timezone
