JOB OBJECTIVE:

The System Administrator (SA) provisions, installs, configures, operates, and maintains servers, storage subsystem and its peripherals running in different Operating System (OS) and Database platforms. Including all components (hardware and software) to run an application system of the Bank in Production (PRD), Disaster Recovery (DR), Development (DEV), System Integration Testing (SIT), and User Acceptance Testing (UAT) Environment. The SA is also responsible in the continuous trending of system utilization as basis for Capacity Planning to ensure a maintained system performance. Assesses its impact across the bank infrastructure and recommends improvement options. The SA is a problem solver constrained by limited time.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Plans and designs the system infrastructure to support the bank's various project and operational needs.
  • Installs new/rebuilds existing servers and configures hardware, peripherals, services, settings, directories, storage, etc. in accordance with standards and project/operational requirements.
  • Develops and maintains procedural guidelines for Data Center Operations Department in conducting regular maintenance activities affecting its operation.
  • Performs daily/weekly and monthly system monitoring for trending and prognosis.
  • Ensures good system health condition of servers, storage subsystem and peripherals, performance tuning and maintenance in PRD and DR environment.
  • Controls the resource allocation to maximize capacity of the machine, appropriately and strategically investigates and troubleshoots issues and/or observed irregularities in the infrastructure in a limited time frame; quick and precise.
  • Repairs and recovers from hardware or software failures.
  • Maintains infrastructure inventory for IT Asset Management and quick reference for system restoration procedures.
  • Formulates strategies and procedures for system backup, recovery and restoration for new system and improvements for existing systems.
  • Ensures DR site infrastructure is ready and operational. Capacity wise – ensures closest possible configuration with the production environment. If required, provides onsite/offsite 24 by 7 system technical support.
  • Applies OS patches and upgrades as may be required by the system manufacturer following the OS Patch Match policies and procedures of the bank.
  • Performs the creation, modification and deletion of OS User Accounts following the prescribed policies and procedures in OS User Access Administration by Information Security Department (ISD).
  • Maintains operation, configures or other procedures as prescribed by the ISD.
  • Recommends innovation and improvements to system infrastructure and standards.
  • Continuous research and development for problem isolation/resolution and technology update.

OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ensures that high quality work and efficiency in Department operations are always maintained.
  • Adheres to the provisions of the bank's Code of Conduct and Discipline.
  • Reports any fraudulent, suspicious acts or unlawful activities / transactions immediately to the immediate head to preempt potential risks to the bank.
  • Attends training and seminars deemed necessary such as BMI's, CORE-PRO, Vision Casting & Culture Building, Anti-Money Laundering Act (AMLA) Training and others related to the position.
  • Maintains cleanliness and orderliness in the workstation.
  • Ensures proper upkeep/maintenance of assigned equipment.
  • Uses Unit resources, i.e., utilities, supplies, judiciously.
  • Performs other functions that may be assigned from time to time.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer engineering, Computer Science or any four (4) year course related to Information Technology
  • At least two (2) years of working experience in Server Administration
  • Excellent command in English, both written and oral
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of management.
  • Keen to details; Strong analytical skills; Risk and result oriented.

OTHER DETAILS:

  • Full onsite in Makati City
  • Regular Schedule (Mon to Fri) 8:30am to 6:30pm
  • Initial 4 months project based contract - subject to extend

SALARY RANGES FROM 40,000.00 to P50,000.00
