Logistics Coordinator/Truck Dispatcher Responsibilities:

Key Responsibilities:

Scheduling and Coordination:

Schedule drivers for freight deliveries or pickups.
Communicate with customers regarding freight details, delivery or pickup times, and any special handling requests.
Route Planning:

Plan and assign pre-determined routes, adjusting as needed to accommodate changes.
Strategically plan fuel stops along routes to minimize fuel costs (ability to calculate fuel requirements is a must).
Documentation and Billing:

Prepare dispatch documents, freight bills, and invoices.
Maintain accurate records of dispatched calls, driver routes, route changes, delivery, and pickup times.
Regulation Compliance:

Stay updated with transportation regulations and laws to ensure driver compliance.
Review and verify drivers’ logs, including dispatched calls and arrival times.
Breakdown and Maintenance Coordination:

Manage truck breakdowns by coordinating with mechanics and service providers.
Monitor truck repairs and maintenance schedules to ensure vehicles are in optimal condition.
Customer Service and Record-Keeping:

Log customer shipping schedules, requests, and complaints.
Handle other related duties as assigned to support the company and team.
Qualifications:

Minimum of two years of experience in dispatching trucks within the USA.
Strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent communication skills for coordinating with drivers, customers, and service providers.
Proficiency in planning routes and fuel stops to maximize efficiency and reduce costs.
Knowledge of transportation regulations and compliance standards.
