Our US client in the investment management industry (VC & PE) is looking for a Fund Accounting Manager to join their team. The Fund Accounting Manager will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the fund accounting team, ensuring accuracy in financial reporting, and maintaining the integrity of accounting processes. As a key member of the finance department, this individual will work closely with the Finance Directors and CFO to manage the accounting for funds, general partners (GPs), and the management company.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Oversee the calculation and verification of daily/monthly Net Asset Values (NAVs) for assigned funds
  • Supervise the preparation and review of financial statements for funds and limited partnerships
  • Ensure timely and accurate reconciliations of cash, positions, and pricing for fund portfolios
  • Manage and monitor corporate actions, income events, and other transactions impacting fund performance
  • Review and approve fund expenses, fee calculations, and other disbursements
  • Oversee the preparation and distribution of investor statements and reports
  • Ensure compliance with fund accounting policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements
  • Liaise with external auditors during fund audits and ensure accurate and timely audit deliverables
  • Support regulatory and financial reporting requirements, including working with external service providers
  • Assist in the valuation of complex financial instruments, as necessary
  • Lead the implementation and maintenance of fund accounting systems and processes
  • Manage, mentor, and develop junior accounting staff to ensure continuous improvement in performance and capabilities
  • Perform other duties as directed by the Finance Directors or CFO


QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS & EDUCATION:

  • Bachelors degree in Accountancy, Finance, or related field; CPA certification preferred
  • 5+ years of fund accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a managerial role
  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP or IFRS
  • Experience working with US audit teams and managing audit processes
  • Private equity or investment management experience is a plus (though not required)
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and leadership skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines
  • Detail-oriented and capable of handling both routine and complex accounting tasks
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and remotely
