Data Engineer

We are looking for an experienced technical individuals to help us translate data it into meaningful Insights that our business stakeholders can act on. The role is best suited for candidates with a strong technical background that can effectively communicate with our business community. You have a natural curiosity, willing to learn our business strategy and then be able to data mine the right information to help answer business questions and do all this in a fast-paced environment. You will work on a global & diverse analytics team primarily supporting our Sales, Product Management & Supply Chain stakeholders. You are willing to conduct deep dive exploratory analysis to help explain trend breaks or other data anomalies. You might uncover errors in business process or data quality issues and work to improve stakeholder confidence in the data.

What will you do?

• End to end development - Take ownership for the technical delivery of custom analytic projects
• Project scoping - Work with Team member and internal stakeholders to capture requirements
• Tableau (additional BI tools would be beneficial) - Design and build new custom Tableau dashboards to meet customer requirements. A creative approach will be required for some projects, where a detailed understanding of Tableau would be a key advantage.
• Data modeling - Use Alteryx to create a repeatable ETL and data model to serve data to Tableau dashboards.
• Documentation - Document end to end solution including; data sources, Alteryx data model
• Develop new reporting and enhance current reports to keep them in line with changing business needs
• Create time efficient processes for all analysis and reporting through process automation;
• Fulfill ad-hoc data request from Sales stakeholders
• Extraction of data from Business Intelligence tools or source systems and create presentation style outputs
  
  
  

Qualifications

Who would be successful?

• Degree in Business Information Systems, Business Analytics or related area of study
• 1 to 2 years of experience using SQL and ETL
• Experience in Alteryx and Tableau is preferred but not required
• Experience with data from Sales Force.com, POS systems, ERP Systems
• Understanding of data visualization best practices
• Understanding and ability to manipulate and join multiple diverse datasets
• Experience in connecting and working with different types of data sources, for example, SQL and APIs
• Experience and comfortable interfacing directly with internal stakeholders, asking questions and creating solutions
• Ability to work in an agile environment
• Knowledge of SQL, Relational database design, data integration practices
• Experience with project management; preferred
