As a Database Developer, you'll play a critical role in designing, optimizing, and maintaining our database systems, ensuring they are robust, scalable, and high-performing. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and refine database architectures, write and optimize complex queries, and implement best practices for data management. Your expertise in SQL, data modeling, and performance tuning will be instrumental in improving the efficiency and reliability of our database systems, driving better overall system performance.
This is a full-time role, on a US shift and on a Work from home set-up.

What You Will Do:
Database Architecture and Development: Design and develop complex relational database schemas to support scalable and high-performance applications.
SQL Optimization: Write, optimize, and maintain advanced SQL queries, indexes, and database structures to ensure maximum performance and efficiency.
Database Management: Create and manage large-scale SQL databases, including tables, views, and stored procedures, ensuring reliability and robustness.
Performance Tuning: Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks in SQL queries and database operations, continuously improving database efficiency.
ETL Processes: Develop, maintain, and optimize sophisticated ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes to ensure accurate and efficient data movement across systems.
Collaboration: Work closely with development teams to integrate database solutions into the software development lifecycle, contributing to overall system architecture and performance.
Monitoring and Troubleshooting: Monitor database performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement solutions to maintain high availability and reliability.
Security and Compliance: Conduct system audits, improve database security, and ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices.
You Are/Have:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a related field.
5+ years of experience in database development with a strong focus on MSSQL and relational databases.
Proficient in MSSQL, with experience in writing and optimizing complex queries and managing relational databases.
Understanding of database performance: Must have knowledge of indexing, query optimization, and performance troubleshooting.
Familiarity with scripting languages such as Powershell and Python
Experience with ETL processes: Strong background in developing, maintaining, and optimizing ETL pipelines.
Experience with database management tools and techniques, including backup, recovery, and replication strategies.
Knowledge of NoSQL databases (e.g., DynamoDB) is a plus, though not required.
Solid understanding of database security practices and experience implementing security measures within database systems.
Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving database-related issues.
Experience with database monitoring tools and the use of metrics/logs/traces to ensure database health and performance.
Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and tools like GitLab or Jenkins, especially in the context of database deployment and version control.
Basic understanding of cloud platforms (e.g., AWS) and networking technologies, with a focus on how they impact database performance and availability.
Ability to ideate and execute: A proactive, solution-oriented mindset with the ability to implement best practices in database development and optimization.
