We use genomic data to power our tools and platforms, improving every step of the patient pathway. From preventing diseases to improving screening, diagnosing, treatment, and even developing new medicines.

Our vision is a world where everyone benefits from genomics, helping people to live longer, healthier lives. If that all sounds exciting, join us!

A Day in the Life

At Genomics plc, we tackle some of the most significant scientific challenges and opportunities, aiming to harness the full potential of genetic data to improve human health. This position is part of the Life Sciences team, a dynamic group working across the therapeutic development spectrum—from facilitating therapeutic target discovery to using genetic risk prediction to optimize clinical trial design.

As a leader in this role, you will be responsible for shaping and executing the team's strategic scientific vision, while overseeing their performance and development. You'll guide the team toward groundbreaking scientific achievements and innovative products, all while fostering a positive and excellence-driven culture.

This position combines scientific leadership, team management, and hands-on involvement in key scientific projects. To thrive, you’ll need a mix of visionary scientific thinking and practical, results-driven execution. A strong sense of ownership over team goals and the ability to inspire and motivate will be essential to delivering impactful results.

The Role

  • Prepare and communicate key scientific deliverables to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Manage team members, including performance reviews, hiring, and providing growth opportunities.
  • Collaborate across teams (e.g., engineering, software) to achieve shared objectives.

Who You Are

  • PhD in statistical genetics or functional genomics, with relevant life sciences experience (e.g., target discovery).
  • Proven ability to independently develop, execute, and prioritize research plans for medium to large projects.
  • Strong communication skills to engage stakeholders at all levels through written reports and presentations.
  • Leadership experience, managing teams to achieve successful outcomes with an empowering management style.
  • Skilled in coordinating teams and managing projects to ensure timely delivery of objectives.
  • Expertise in genetic association analyses (e.g., GWAS, SKAT-O, pLoF burden, PRS).
  • Proficiency in advanced statistical genetics techniques (e.g., colocalization, fine-mapping, Mendelian Randomization, pathway analysis).
  • Competent in statistical programming (e.g., R, Python) for scientific prototyping.
