The Economic Research Analyst requires understanding of Macroeconomics and the interplay between economics, financial markets, and business, investments, and consumer trends.
The position requires data literacy, functional intelligence, good communication skills, and professional work ethic.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform fundamental analysis of Philippine and Global macroeconomic trends using publicly available information, proprietary bank information, data subscription services, interviews with policy makers, channel checks with third parties, etc.
- Maintain and update BDO economic databases and econometric models
- Communicate economic related information, analysis, and forecasts via written report and oral presentations whether for internal Business Units or external clients as needed
- Primarily responsible for administrative tasks (eg. Maintaining data subscription services, preparatory work for client meetings, etc) involving the Corporate Planning Macroeconomics Research team
Qualifications:
- Graduate of a four-year or five-year bachelor's degree (preferably Economics, Math, or Statistics)
- Knowledge of economic and industry analysis
- Knowledge of analytical techniques and tools
- Has good written and oral communication skills
- An individual with previous work experience as an analyst is preferred but fresh graduates with strong academic background in economics, finance, or math and in possession of the requisite analyst aptitude and skill set described above can be considered for the opportunity
