Job Summary:

The Compliance & Paralegal Analyst supports the legal and compliance department by ensuring that the company adheres to all applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies. This role involves assisting in compliance audits, preparing legal documents, conducting legal research, and helping implement the organization's compliance programs. The position is essential to mitigating legal risks and ensuring operational transparency.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Compliance Support:
    • Assist in the development, implementation, and monitoring of compliance programs, policies, and procedures.
    • Conduct internal audits and reviews to ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and internal standards.
    • Track and monitor changes in laws, regulations, and industry guidelines that affect the company's operations.
    • Assist in preparing reports, summaries, and recommendations related to compliance issues.
  2. Document Preparation:
    • Prepare, organize, and maintain compliance-related legal documents such as contracts, policies, and regulatory filings.
    • Draft memoranda, summaries, and compliance guidelines based on research and legal counsel instructions.
    • Assist in the filing of required regulatory documents with government agencies or third-party vendors.
  3. Legal Research:
    • Conduct thorough legal research on industry regulations, compliance standards, and corporate governance practices.
    • Analyze and summarize legal issues related to compliance and provide recommendations to the legal team.
    • Maintain a database of regulatory research and updates to keep the legal department informed of relevant changes.
  4. Monitoring and Reporting:
    • Monitor regulatory environments and industry best practices to ensure compliance in all aspects of company operations.
    • Report potential compliance risks to the Compliance Officer or General Counsel and provide input on corrective actions.
    • Assist in investigating reported compliance issues, violations, or incidents, and help in the preparation of follow-up reports.
  5. Training and Communication:
    • Assist in creating and delivering compliance training materials for employees, including presentations, workshops, and written resources.
    • Serve as a point of contact for compliance-related inquiries from employees and external partners.
    • Promote a culture of compliance across the organization by reinforcing key policies and regulatory obligations.
  6. Administrative Support:
    • Maintain organized compliance records, including correspondence, agreements, and filings.
    • Schedule meetings, hearings, and compliance reviews, and manage the department’s calendar and deadlines.
    • Handle communications with regulatory authorities, external counsel, and third-party compliance providers as needed.
Qualifications:
  • Education:
    • Associate’s or Bachelor's Degree in Legal Studies, Paralegal Studies, or a related field. Paralegal certification preferred.
  • Experience:
    • 2-4 years of paralegal experience in a corporate, law firm, or compliance setting.
    • Experience in regulatory compliance, corporate governance, or risk management is preferred.
  • Skills:
    • Strong understanding of legal terminology and regulatory frameworks.
    • Excellent organizational, analytical, and research skills.
    • Proficient in legal research tools and software, including Westlaw, LexisNexis, or similar platforms.
    • Exceptional attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
