PURPOSE:

  • Identifies and analyses production optimization opportunities and drives the implementation of cost effective solutions.
  • Participates in the review of any improvement projects on existing facilities to ensure concepts are rigorously challenged, technical standards are met, and asset integrity maintained.
  • Reviews the technical aspect of the process and system-related Management of Change Requests and supports execution.
  • Promotes innovative processes and environmental technology with business applications.
  • Ensures environmental standards and legislation are met in the design/operations undertaken.

THE ROLE:

  • To provide technical review and to provide improvement recommendations on process engineering for the Malampaya facilities to ensure safe operability in a cost-effective manner.
  • To provide technical expertise covering the whole spectrum from the conceptual study, detailed design to implementation and commissioning for Malampaya improvement projects.
  • To perform the technical/operational integrity surveillance for the functional assets.
  • To address ad-hoc site queries and solve/troubleshoot operational problems.
  • Take ownership of Management of Change (MoC) proposals. Provide process engineering inputs to design contractor to ensure high quality and timeliness of deliverables from Assess to Execution phase including feasibility and conceptual studies, Basis for Design (BfD), and technical readiness for execution.
  • To act as Contract Holder for the Integrated Laboratory Services contract, which includes overall planning, coordination and management of sampling and analyses activities to ensure results are high quality, reliable, on time and on budget.
  • As part of the team/larger community, assume the role of process engineering technical authority level 3 for PRIME ENERGY. Review and challenge any process design/operational deviation. Provide Process Overview to new joiners and other internal and external stakeholders as required.

Special Challenges:

  • Provide process engineering operations support for Malampaya from the wellbore to point of sale. As such he/she will interface with Malampaya Operations, Development Team, Commercial Team, Service Providers, contractors, and consultants.
  • Provide process engineering inputs and assurance of brownfield projects (management of change), interfacing with Engineering and Projects, design contractors, and Technical Authorities.

THE INDIVIDUAL:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering, preferably with membership in a professional engineering body (e.g. Board of Engineers, Institute of Chemical Engineers, etc.).
  • At least 4 years process engineering experience in the oil and gas industry (preferably in design, commissioning, and operations support).
  • Awareness to Knowledge level in Process Engineering Regulations, Codes and Industry Standards
  • Knowledge to Skill level in Process Safety and Process Safety Management, and in Process Engineering – Design and Operations
  • Knowledge to Skill level in Process Simulation and Optimization
