Accountant

Job Summary: We are looking for a detail-oriented and experienced Accountant with a strong background in the Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) and/or Healthcare industry to support our financial operations. The Accountant will play a critical role in maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring regulatory compliance, and assisting with financial analysis to support the company’s strategic goals. This role will work closely with the CFO and the finance team to provide vital financial insights, contributing to the overall financial health and growth of the organization.

Responsibilities:

Financial Record-Keeping & Reporting:

• Maintain accurate and timely financial records, including the preparation of journal entries, reconciliations, and trial balances.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with GAAP or IFRS.
• Ensure financial documentation is maintained systematically and meets compliance requirements.

Budgeting & Forecasting:

• Assist the CFO in budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes, ensuring alignment with corporate goals.
• Support variance analysis by comparing actual financial results against forecasts and budgets.

Accounts Payable & Receivable:

• Oversee the processing of accounts payable and receivable, ensuring accurate and timely payments.
• Reconcile bank statements and ensure proper cash flow management.

Tax Preparation & Compliance:

• Prepare and file all necessary tax returns, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local tax laws.
• Support the CFO in managing audits and other regulatory reviews, ensuring transparency and compliance.

Financial Analysis:

• Conduct financial analysis, identifying trends, risks, and opportunities to support decision-making.
• Provide financial data to support key performance metrics and financial health tracking.

Internal Controls & Risk Management:

• Ensure the implementation of strong internal controls to safeguard the company’s financial assets.
• Support the CFO in identifying and mitigating financial risks through adherence to established controls and procedures.

Qualifications:

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• CPA certification is preferred.

Experience:

• 5 years of accounting experience, preferably within the CPG or Healthcare industry.
• Familiarity with regulatory requirements such as GAAP, IFRS, and Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliance.

Technical Skills:

• Strong proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle Netsuite) and Microsoft Excel.
• Experience with ERP systems is a plus.

Analytical Skills:

• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data, identify trends, and make recommendations.

Attention to Detail:

• High level of accuracy and attention to detail in financial reporting and analysis.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience working in companies undergoing rapid growth or scaling.
• Familiarity with financial complexities specific to CPG or healthcare industries, such as supply chain costs or reimbursement systems.
