Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for conducting a variety of laboratory tests and analyses on coal samples to determine their chemical and physical properties.
  • Preparing samples, performing tests according to established protocols, recording and interpreting data, and maintaining laboratory equipment.
  • Ensure that all work is performed in compliance with safety standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure proper labelling, recording, storage and preservation of the coal to prevent contamination.
  • Perform preventive maintenance of all laboratory equipment.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Must be bachelor’s degree in chemistry, Chemical Engineering or a related field.
  • Experience in a laboratory setting, preferably in the coal or mining industry. Familiarity with coal testing methods and standards (e.g., ASTM, ISO).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in using laboratory equipment and software.
  • Attention to detail and ability to follow precise protocols.
