Position Description

We are seeking a part-time (20 hours per week) freelance contractor to join our client as a Creative Director, overseeing creative strategy and execution for their life sciences clients. This role will lead a cross-functional team of art directors, visual designers, and copywriters, driving innovative and strategically focused digital experiences. The ideal candidate is a creative visionary who can translate business goals, customer insights, and data into compelling creative ideas and deliverables. You will be responsible for supervising the creative process, ensuring alignment between the creative department and offshore teams, and producing fresh, innovative work that elevates the client’s brand and customer experiences. The Creative Director will also foster a collaborative environment, guide brainstorming sessions, and ensure that all creative output is on-brief and meets marketing objectives.



About the work

Lead a cross-functional team of art directors, visual designers, and copywriters in developing strategic and creative deliverables.
Develop and execute innovative digital experiences that align with client business goals and customer insights.
Supervise the creative process, ensuring alignment with offshore teams and maintaining high standards across all projects.
Conduct brainstorming sessions with the creative team, fostering a collaborative and inspiring work environment.
Review and ensure all creative output, including art, visual design, and copy, is on-brief and effectively addresses marketing challenges.
Produce fresh, innovative work that translates complex ideas into compelling, customer-centered experiences.
Guide the creation of video and motion-based projects to enhance customer engagement.
Own the creative philosophy and maintain standards across the department, advocating for creative ideas and solutions.

8-10+ years of relevant creative experience, including leadership roles.
Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams (art directors, visual designers, copywriters) in delivering high-quality creative work.
Strong portfolio showcasing innovative digital experiences and strategic creative solutions for brand and corporate campaigns, digital promotions, and customer-facing websites/applications.
Demonstrated experience with video and motion-based projects and how they impact customer experience.
Comprehensive understanding of digital marketing and the ability to translate business objectives into creative solutions.
Familiarity with life sciences or similar industries, with knowledge of how scientific information informs customer communications.
Excellent communication and presentation skills, with experience leading internal and external client pitch presentations.
Ability to manage multiple projects with strong organization and time management skills.
Collaborative mindset with the ability to work closely with internal teams and offshore resources.
