JOB DESCRIPTION: HUMAN RESOURCE SPECIALIST
About The Role:
Responsible for overseeing the hiring of new staff, employee relations, and administering employee-related services such as payroll, training and development programs, and benefits. Identifying ways to maximize the employees talents and value to the organization, and serving as a link between an organization’s management and its employees.
What you’ll be doing (DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES):
- Plan and coordinate the organization’s workforce to best use employees’ talents
- Aid employees with performance improvements by planning and conducting orientations and training programs
- Maintains the work structure by updating the employee handbook, job requirements and job descriptions for all positions
- Enhances the organization’s human resources by planning, implementing, and evaluating human resources policies, programs, and practices
- Supports organization staff by establishing a recruiting, testing, and interviewing program; counseling managers on candidate selection; conducting and analyzing exit interviews; and recommending changes
- Ensures planning, monitoring, and appraisal of employee work results by scheduling management conferences with employees; hearing and resolving employee grievances; and counseling employees and supervisors
- Manages a pay plan by conducting periodic pay surveys; scheduling and conducting job evaluations; preparing pay budgets; monitoring and scheduling individual pay actions; and recommending, planning, and implementing pay structure revisions
What skills & experience you’ll bring to us (QUALIFICATIONS):
- Must be a graduate of Psychology, Human Resource Development, Business Management, or similar courses
- 3+ years of experience in Freight Forwarding, Labor Relations, Employee Relations, and human resource management roles
- Experience in hiring and interviewing
- Knowledge in the following: Compensation and Wage Structures, Benefits Administration, Performance Management, Communication Processes, Employment Law, etc.
- Strong interpersonal, leadership, and organizational skills
- Effective creative, analytical, communications, reporting, administrative writing, and research skills
- Effective time management skills and the ability to meet deadlines
- Excellent problem-solving, decision-making skills with keen eye for details
