The Buyer will support Purchasing and Procurement activities both domestically and internationally. Buyer will be involved in obtaining and reviewing quotes, purchase orders and monitoring open orders and vendor performance. This position will be a key contributor to indirect purchasing and working extensively analyzing reports.

Essential Functions

  • Review, verify and process purchase requisitions, handle routine transactions with customers/suppliers and provide high levels of service and quality
  • Supports the stakeholders and follows the organizations process, clarifying unclear items, recommending alternatives for cost savings
  • Prepares purchase orders by verifying specifications and price and receives appropriate departments approvals
  • Supports organization KPI’s by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data and trends within SAP S4, and other internal systems
  • Familiar with onboarding new suppliers, including master contract, vendors negotiations, payment terms, pricing negotiation
  • Maintain vendor relationships, address vendor performance issues or concerns, resolve communication breakdowns
  • Update & provide training to the business units that issue Requisitions
  • Liaise between Purchasing Department and several corporate functional areas, including but not limited to, Finance & Accounting, Legal, Facilities, IT, Marketing & Operations
  • Train business owners on procurement policies and systems and ensure adherence of all purchases
  • Analyze past and present spend data, manage small projects and meet timelines
  • Prepare clear, accurate and concise reports, specifications, correspondence and other written materials
  • Partner with Accounts Payable to address any open issues (vendor concerns, open PO’s, invoice discrepancy…)

Education, Experience, and Skills

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution or equivalent
  • 2-4 years of work experience in purchasing/procurement department
  • Strong problem-solving, quantitative and analytical skills with the ability to review and interpret data and develop insights for high-volume/complex data sets
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, written and organizational skills
  • Flexible, learns quickly and adaptable to changing priorities and demands of the position
  • Strong attention to detail, and technically savvy
  • Excellent written and oral communications skills required
  • Experience with SAP and/or S4 Hana or similar ERP systems is required
  • Strong knowledge of P2P (Procure to Pay) daily process is preferred
  • Skilled in the use of Microsoft Office software
