Main Duties And Responsibilities

I. Section Management and Development

  • Sets the direction of the Grounds, Trees and Waste Management Section and

determines its operational goals in alignment with the Group goals, Office goals and

Cluster mandates

  • Conducts strategic assessment and evaluation of the Section’s processes,

programs, and initiatives, ensuring continuous improvement, maintenance. and

adjustment in program and service delivery

  • Regularly monitors the achievement of Section metrics and goals
  • Oversees the development of Section policies and provides inputs for the

development of the general Office policies

  • Implements quality assurance programs to ensure safety practices are followed and

duties completed

  • Prepares and monitors the Section’s budget and expenditures and recommends cost

effective solutions for the Office

  • Manages the performance of employees in the Section by setting standards/targets,

monitoring, and evaluating performance, and providing development opportunities

II. Grounds and Trees Management Operations

  • Establishes the following standards for the grounds, trees, and waste management

Service Operations

  • complement requirements, rotation and deployment schedules
  • grounds and trees maintenance, and waste management safety methods and

standards

  • supplies allocation and utilization
  • Gathers and reviews operational data/information, and writes operational reports
  • Monitors utilization of supplies and equipment, controlling stock levels and issuance,

and recommending procurement of such, whenever necessary

  • Organizes work of solid waste management operations to minimize costs
  • Inspects the work outputs of service providers, ensuring their compliance with

standard operating procedures, national and local regulations (e.g., proper

hauling of solid waste and recycling, etc.)

  • Analyzes layout plans to identify access for collection vehicles performing solid

waste collection services

  • Resolves stakeholder concerns by attending to queries, and investigating complaints

and recommending corrective action

  • Reviews new and renovated building projects to identify grounds services operation

needs

III. Waste Management and University Pollution Control

  • Oversees proper performance, operation and maintenance of environmental

management facilities or systems of establishments, in coordination with the Ateneo

Institute of Sustainability,

IV. Performs other duties that may be required by the Immediate Supervisor and

authorized representatives

Minimum Qualifications

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in either Engineering or Architecture
  • Licensed architect or engineer
  • At least 3 years experience on facilities grounds, trees and landscape, waste management and

managing contractors

  • At least 3 years of supervisory experience
  • Completed 40 hours of PCO-related training

Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities

  • Administration and Management: Knowledge of business and management principles

involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, human resources modeling, leadership

technique, production methods, and coordination of people and resources (required for Section

Management functions)

  • Administration: Knowledge of administrative and office procedures and systems such as

word processing, managing files and records, stenography and transcription, designing

forms, and workplace terminology (required for report writing and other administrative tasks)

  • Customer and Personal Service: Knowledge of principles and processes for providing

customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality

standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction (required for servicing client
