Preferred Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 2-3 years experience in quantity surveying, cost management, or a related role in the construction industry.
- Skills: Proficiency in cost estimation software (e.g., Candy, CostX), strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and excellent negotiation abilities.
- Certifications: Professional certification from relevant institutions (e.g., PICQS or RICS) is an advantage but not mandatory.
Key Responsibilities
- Cost Estimation & Budgeting: Prepare accurate cost estimates and budgets for construction projects, ensuring effective financial planning and resource allocation.
- Tendering & Procurement: Manage the tendering process, including preparing tender documents and bills of quantities, and evaluating contractor bids.
- Cost Monitoring: Track and control project expenses to ensure they align with budget forecasts, providing regular financial updates and projections.
- Valuations & Payments: Assess work progress on-site, prepare valuations for interim payments, and manage final account settlements.
- Risk & Contract Management: Identify cost risks, administer contracts, and provide advice on any variations or disputes.
- Collaboration: Work closely with project managers, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth project execution and optimal financial outcomes.
