Position Summary

The Officer, Training & Development, develops, conducts, updates and reviews training & development materials or curriculum. He / She provides subject matter expertise to reinforce the work of the Training & Development. He / She measures the effectiveness of every training intervention utilized by the company and recommend alternative measures, when necessary.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Conducts training needs analysis.
  • Designs and updates online courses and course curriculum including its creative aspects.
  • Maintains the training systems and applications.
  • Assist in developing program offerings, and updates related training programs to meet agreed training needs.
  • Delivers training programs as assigned.
  • Ensures training is delivered in accordance with Training & Development training strategy.
  • Evaluates the effectiveness of specific training and development programs in hotel operations -related against learning objectives and to report on that evaluation.
  • Promotes the consistency and quality of training programs.
  • Develops and maintains all training documentations in the hotel operations.
  • Supervises staff under his/her responsibility.
  • Participates in cross-organizational projects as directed by the Senior Manager, Training and Development.

Qualifications

I. Experience

  • At least 3 years of experience in training, specifically in the learning and development department.
  • Has a good knowledge of the Philippine hospitality industry environment and labor market.
  • Able to design curriculum and course materials as well as implement organizational development initiatives.
  • Well-developed presentation skills.

II. Education

  • Tertiary education in Curriculum Design
  • Degree in Human Resources/Hospitality/Gaming Management, preferred

III. Skills / Competencies

  • Ability to influence others
  • Identify the core competencies of the workforce and deploy competency mapping particularly in the hotel operations
  • Understanding of key techniques – TNA, evaluation, transfer of learning (putting learning in to practice in the workplace)
  • Innovative, able to develop new concepts and to deliver creative solutions
  • Having financial acumen, discerning value and an ability to tackle ROTI (Return of Training Investment) issues
  • Effective communication skills; fluent in both written and spoken English and Filipino
  • Good computer skills and knowledge of MS Office, especially PowerPoint
  • Proactive, has drive and commitment
  • Effective at managing business partner and stakeholder relationships
  • Willing to challenge and push boundaries
