The Programs Specialist for Early Childhood Development will assist the Programs Officer in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of KCFI’s Early Childhood Development (ECD) programs for children aged 0-8 years. The role supports the development of high-quality educational content and resources and conduct of capacity building programs for child development workers/teachers and other providers of child care, and works closely with the curriculum, production, engagement, and evaluation units to ensure program success. The specialist will also play a role in managing relationships with key stakeholders, including government agencies, care providers, and the academe.

Responsibilities:

1. Support Program Development & Implementation:

  • Assists the Programs Officer in establishing and implementing KCFI’s ECD programs, ensuring alignment with the National Early Learning Curriculum and the Basic Education Curriculum (K-3)

2. Collaboration with Stakeholders:

  • Aids in building and maintaining relationships with local government units, child development workers, teachers, other childcare providers, and other stakeholders.
  • Works collaboratively with KCFI’s curriculum, production, engagement and evaluation teams to assist in content creation and skill development programs for care providers.

3. Content and Learning Resource Support:

  • Assists in the development and review of content maps and guides for video and other learning resources aimed at 0–8-year-old children.
  • Supports the Program Officer in the implementation and assessment of skills development programs for CDW/Ts, childcare providers, and parents.

4. Program Monitoring and Evaluation:

  • Helps to continuously monitor and assess program objectives, activities, and outcomes
  • Supports assessment of program management, processes, and sustainability, focusing on leveraging technology for efficiency.

Qualifications:

  • Education degree with specialization in Early Childhood Development or related degrees or programs
  • Well-versed on National Early Learning Curriculum and the Basic Education Curriculum for K-3
  • Experienced working with the ECCD Council, Department of Education, Department of Social Welfare and Development, Council for the Welfare of Children, and other government and non-government organizations working on early childhood development and early childhood education.
  • At least 1–3-year experience in program management on interventions related to early childhood education and capacity development training programs for child development teachers & workers, and parents/care providers of children or related work
