Supervises one or more small accounting teams. Ensures organizational adherence to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) or other regulatory requirements. Ensures timely preparation and review of all required regulatory filings. Advises in annual budgeting and prepare accounting reports for executive leadership. Reviews work submitted by accountants and manages accounting close processes. Performs analysis on organizational or business unit financial and accounting metrics for presentation to leadership.

May spend a portion of time performing the work of those they supervise. Assists with management decisions and activities.

Shift Schedule: Regular Day Shift (8:00 am to 5:00pm or 9:00am to 6:00pm)

Work Arrangement: 1 to 3 days a week on-site

A Day In The Life

  • Assists in the preparation of month- end and year-end financial statements and consolidation packages as well as general control activities (Local accounting) is required.
  • Works with accounting team to prepare quarterly accruals
  • Completes monthly and quarterly consolidation packages.
  • Assists in miscellaneous month end and year end close activities.
  • Identifies exposures and recommends corrective action to management.
  • Monitors process controls to ensure compliance with SOX including internal controls.
  • Responds to information requests from staff at all levels and all functions within PPD/Thermo Fisher Scientific
  • Completes special projects as directed
  • Prepares reports to management summarizing activities.
  • Lead and coordinate responses to audit request timely with accurate and completed support.
  • Manages staff, which may include interviewing and selection, job description preparation, professional development, goal setting, performance management, coaching and mentoring, employee counseling, and separations. Approves courses of action on salary administration, hiring, corrective action, and terminations

Keys To Success

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance related courses
  • with certification/license in an advantage

Experience

  • Previous experience that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job (comparable to 0 to 5 years).
  • 1+ year of leadership responsibility is a requirement.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • Strong Local Accounting background involve in Financial Statement preparation is a requirement as the role supports all Philippine business entities.
  • Experience in Oracle is an advantage.
  • Experienced in multinational companies/shared services.
  • Prepare and review monthly journal entries, P&L and balance sheet reconciliation.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, report writing and analytical skills.
  • Ability to achieve a high level of performance as part of a team or working independently.
  • Detail oriented with good problem-solving skills is necessary.
  • Proficiency in problem solving and prioritizing.
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills.
  • Proficient Microsoft Office Skills.
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and handle pressure.
  • Work effectively with all levels of employees.

Management Role

Directly supervises administrative support and / or technical staff.
