JOB DESCRIPTION FOR AN ESTIMATOR
- Your Responsibilities as an Estimator would be:
- Collaborate with project managers, architects, subcontractors, and suppliers to gather necessary
- information for project estimates.
- Analyze project blueprints, specifications, and other documentation to determine material and labor requirements.
- Prepare accurate cost estimates and proposals for commercial construction projects, including itemized breakdowns of costs and timelines.
- Evaluate subcontractor and supplier bids and negotiate pricing agreements to ensure cost- effectiveness.
- Monitor and track project costs throughout the construction process, identifying potential cost overruns and proposing cost-saving measures.
- Stay updated on industry trends, material costs, and labor rates to ensure competitive and accurate estimates.
Qualifications as an Estimator:
- A bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field is preferred.
- Proven experience as an Estimator in the construction industry, with a strong understanding of commercial construction processes and best practices.
- Proficiency in Buildxact software (estimating and project management tool)
- Excellent mathematical and analytical skills, with the ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams, subcontractors, and suppliers.
- Detail-oriented mindset with a focus on accuracy and efficiency in estimating project costs.
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
