Senior Citrix Engineer

The Opportunity:

As a Senior Citrix Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in designing, implementing, and optimizing Citrix solutions for our clients. You’ll collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including infrastructure, networking, and security, to deliver high-performance virtualization and application delivery solutions. Your expertise in Citrix technologies will drive innovation and enhance the end-user experience.

This is an onsite role commutable to our ECI office in India (Bangalore, Indore, or Hyderabad) or the Philippines (BGC, Taguig).

Schedule Monday through Friday 8AM EST to 5PM EST. There may be a need to work outside of these hours to implement changes (production impacting only).

What you will do:

• Solution Design and Implementation:
• Architectural Expertise: You’ll design end-to-end Citrix solutions, including XenApp, XenDesktop, StoreFront, Citrix Provisioning Services (PVS), and Netscaler (VPX). Your goal is to create robust, efficient, and user-friendly environments.
• Migration Leadership: Lead migration efforts from legacy Citrix versions to newer releases, ensuring seamless transitions for our clients.
• Integration: Collaborate with other technology teams to seamlessly integrate Citrix solutions with existing infrastructure.
• Citrix Environment Management:
• Strategic Planning: Develop innovation roadmaps, maintenance schedules, and capacity management plans for both on-premises and Citrix Cloud environments.
• 24x7 Monitoring: Keep a watchful eye on the Citrix XenApp environment, promptly addressing any performance issues or anomalies.
• Service Catalog: Maintain a comprehensive catalog of available Citrix services, making it easy for clients to access and utilize them.
• Operational Support:
• Incident Resolution: Provide Level 3 support for incidents related to Citrix. Investigate and troubleshoot complex issues, ensuring minimal downtime.
• SLA Adherence: Collaborate with Service Delivery Management teams to define operational metrics and meet service level agreements.
• Forensics: Utilize forensics tools to analyze and resolve critical incidents.
• Thought Leadership and Innovation:
• Guidance: Offer guidance to project teams and junior architects, sharing best practices and lessons learned.
• Stay Current: Keep abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and Citrix advancements. Be the go-to expert for all things Citrix.
• Performance Optimization: Monitor with standard and custom monitors to fine-tune Citrix environments for optimal performance, scalability, and reliability. Troubleshoot and resolve performance bottlenecks.
• Security and Compliance: Implement security best practices for Citrix deployments. Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
• High Availability and Disaster Recovery: Design and implement high-availability solutions, including failover and disaster recovery mechanisms.
• PVS (Provisioning Services):
• Configure and manage PVS farms for efficient image provisioning and management.
• Optimize image delivery and update processes.
• Collaborate with system administrators to ensure seamless integration with virtual desktops and applications.
• NetScaler (Citrix ADC):
• Design, configure, and maintain NetScaler appliances for load balancing, secure remote access, and traffic management.
• Implement SSL offloading, content switching, and global server load balancing.
• Troubleshoot connectivity issues and optimize NetScaler performance.
• DNS Delegation, GSLB
• FSLogix:
• Implement and manage FSLogix profiles and containers for seamless user experience across virtual desktops.
• Troubleshoot profile-related issues and optimize profile storage.
• Documentation: Create detailed technical documentation, including architecture diagrams, installation guides, and operational procedures.
• Vendor Management: Collaborate with Citrix and other technology vendors to stay informed about product updates, patches, and new features.
  
  

Who you are:

• Education: A Bachelor’s or Associate Degree in Computer Science, Technical, Engineering, Information Systems, or related fields.
• Minimum 7 years of hands-on experience in architecting and implementing Citrix Virtualization Solutions.
• Design, configure, and maintain NetScaler appliances for load balancing, secure remote access, and traffic management.
• Implement SSL offloading, content switching, and global server load balancing.
• Troubleshoot connectivity issues and optimize NetScaler performance.
• Technical Skills:
• Proficiency in Active Directory and Citrix group policy.
• Familiarity with anti-virus applications.
• Knowledge of Citrix Cloud and Citrix NetScaler management.
• Troubleshooting skills for Citrix NetScaler 10.X and above.
• Expertise in Citrix Provisioning Server and Citrix Workspace Environment Management (WEM).
• Citrix WAF (Web Application Firewall): Implement and manage WAF solutions to enhance security and protect web applications.
• Proficiency in Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops (formerly XenApp and XenDesktop)
• Strong knowledge of Citrix ADC (NetScaler) for load balancing and secure remote access
• Understanding of Windows Server, Active Directory, and Group Policy
• VDA Lifecycle Management (Alpha, Pilot, Prod)

• Certifications
• ITIL (Information Technology Infrastructure Library)
• Citrix Certified Professional (CCP-V or CCP-N) or equivalent certifications.
