The Reporting Analyst supports a portfolio of tools and reports that are needed to generate business insights and actions across business functions. This role works to execute timely and accurate reporting while partnering closely with end users to improve and maintain the relevancy of information provided. These efforts allow team members to effectively execute their responsibilities and make informed decisions for the betterment of the company and our customers

  • Design business analysis and data recording systems for use throughout the department
  • Maintain databases and perform updates as necessary to ensure accuracy
  • Regularly examine data reports to locate and resolve mistakes throughout
  • Accurately analyze and collect data for various types of business reports
  • Create business reports that provide insight into key data points
  • Communicate the results of data analysis in written and verbal form to managers
  • Support various departments, including marketing and sales, in reaching their goals through analysis
  • Monitor data to identify changes in financial and business trends
  • Understand customer requirements and analyze data to quantify the value proposition to our customers, as required
  • Present results in a clear and concise manner for both internal and external presentations
  • Develop analytical tools and dashboards that allows our teams to efficiently report on datasets
  • Support and manage our platforms as administrator, create dashboards and custom reporting or data fields.
  • Create reports and develop tools and processes to automate reports.
  • Analyze large amounts of data
  • Use Structured Query Language (SQL) and other coding languages to extract data.
  • Align reports to business objectives and key performance indicators.
  • Collaborate with other business areas and leaders to identify reporting needs.
  • Access existing databases and creating processes for storage of new data.
  • Champion company core values and other company programs
  • Other duties as assigned

Education

Completed Post-Secondary education in a related field

Experience

Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel to create pivot tables, graphs and charts

Previous experience with analytical platforms, data aggregation, and analysis tools, in various disciplines (operational/financial/human capital/consumer/marketing)

Experience working on reporting and visualization tools such as PowerBI

Strong analytical / critical thinking and problem solving skills

Working knowledge of Python, SQL, VBA would be an asset

Analytical skills that allow for the development of data-driven reports

Demonstrated ability to manage time and prioritize projects to meet deadlines

One to three years of experience as a financial or business analyst, preferred

Experience in SAP, object-oriented programming and other data analysis programs would be an asset

Strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively relate data to coworkers

Excellent critical thinking skills to help solve business problems and make decisions

Tendency to pay close attention to small details that could impact results

General knowledge of business operations, objectives, strategies, process and information flow

Certificates, Licenses, & Registration

There are no personal certification, licensing, or registration requirements for this job, however Excel and/or PowerBI Certifications would be an asset.
