Position Summary

Responsible for being the center of knowledge for all the major processes in a coal fired power plant from the coal supply, steam cycle, heat balance and finally generation of electricity to the grid in support of operations and maintenance for the combined power plant assets.

The post holder will provide expert knowledge in the areas of power generation and business processes to develop methods to improve productivity, process safety, efficiency, and operational costs.

The post-holder will be expected to significantly contribute to resolution of technical issues inhibiting flexible plant performance and in proposing plant improvement options.

Other areas of functions include inspections during overhauls, plant failure situations and optimization of the approaches taken. It also involves providing assurance in the business processes followed for root cause analysis, incident and asset management, configuration, and management of change when modifications are proposed for the plant sites.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering
  • Professional Institution Membership, desirable
  • Evidence of Professional Competence
  • At least 10 years of power plant and process engineering experience
  • As disciplined leader in this field with proven exemplary experience
