Job Summary:

A VC-funded property technology company is looking for an experienced Construction Engineer to lead and manage construction projects from planning through execution. This role requires overseeing all project phases—design, budgeting, safety, materials, and compliance—while coordinating with clients, architects, and subcontractors to ensure projects meet design and quality standards.

General Tasks:

  • Negotiate and prepare construction contract agreements based on project scope.
  • Coordinate construction progress with stakeholders.
  • Assist with QA/QC concerns and support the preparation of progress billings.

Responsibilities:

  • Planning & Design: Create physical layouts and designs using software tools, and manage project planning stages.
  • Budgeting: Develop and track budgets, estimating costs to ensure projects remain financially viable.
  • Materials Management: Order, assess, and select building materials, ensuring they meet quality standards.
  • Safety Management: Enforce safety regulations, design temporary structures, and ensure secure site operations.
  • Communication & Coordination: Maintain strong communication with clients, architects, and stakeholders, providing updates and coordinating with HOAs and developers on construction requirements.
  • Contract Management: Negotiate, draft, and administer contracts with subcontractors, suppliers, and vendors.
  • Progress Monitoring: Track project milestones, verify construction progress, and prepare accurate progress billings.
  • Quality Assurance: Oversee QA/QC processes to ensure the project meets all technical and design specifications.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure projects align with building regulations, environmental standards, and architectural plans.
  • Troubleshooting: Resolve any technical or structural challenges promptly.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field; licensed Civil Engineer preferred.
  • 3-5 years of experience in construction project management.
  • Proficient in design and construction management software (e.g., AutoCAD, MS Project).
  • Strong leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills.
