Position Overview:
The Web Designer/Developer will play a pivotal role in the design, development, and maintenance of our website, ensuring it is visually appealing, functional, and aligned with our brand identity. This role will involve collaborating with our marketing and product teams to develop a seamless user experience and optimizing the website to improve engagement, conversions, and retention.
Key Responsibilities:
• Website Design and User Experience
• Design engaging, responsive web pages that align with our brand’s aesthetics and vision.
• Develop intuitive layouts and navigation to enhance user experience (UX) and improve accessibility.
• Create wireframes, mockups, and prototypes to visualize and plan website updates or redesigns.
• Work closely with marketing to ensure a cohesive look and feel that reflects seasonal campaigns, promotions, and new product launches.
• Front-End Development
• Translate design mockups into functional, responsive code (HTML, CSS, JavaScript).
• Customize themes or templates on platforms such as Shopify, WooCommerce, or WordPress (specify your platform).
• Implement A/B tests and conversion rate optimizations to improve the user journey, particularly around product pages and checkout flows.
• Back-End Development (if applicable)
• Develop and maintain custom plugins, APIs, or other integrations to enhance site functionality.
• Ensure seamless integration with third-party applications, including CRM, email marketing, and analytics tools.
• Troubleshoot and fix any back-end issues, ensuring website stability and performance.
• E-commerce Optimization
• Enhance product listing pages and checkout flow to drive conversions and maximize sales.
• Implement features like customer reviews, product recommendations, and user accounts.
• Collaborate with inventory and fulfillment teams to integrate real-time inventory and order tracking.
• Performance and SEO Optimization
• Optimize page speed, mobile-friendliness, and overall site performance to enhance SEO and user experience.
• Apply SEO best practices to web pages and product listings, including metadata, alt tags, and schema markup.
• Use tools like Google Analytics and Search Console to monitor site performance and identify areas for improvement.
• Maintenance and Updates
• Regularly update website content, troubleshoot issues, and ensure compatibility across browsers and devices.
• Implement security measures and best practices to protect against vulnerabilities and ensure site reliability.
• Keep up with industry trends and suggest improvements to stay competitive and innovative.
Requirements:
• Education & Experience
• Proven experience in web design and development, particularly in e-commerce (provide portfolio or examples of previous work).
• Technical Skills
• Proficiency in front-end technologies: HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and familiarity with frameworks like Bootstrap or Tailwind.
• Experience with Shopify
• Familiarity with back-end languages like PHP, or JavaScript frameworks like React/Vue is a plus.
• Knowledge of SEO best practices and tools (e.g., Google Analytics, Search Console).
• Experience with design tools like Adobe XD, Sketch, Figma, or Photoshop.
• Soft Skills
• Strong communication skills, with an ability to work collaboratively and independently.
• Detail-oriented with a problem-solving mindset.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks effectively.
