Sagan is seeking an experienced Landman to support our project management initiatives. The ideal candidate will have a background in property law or a related field, with the skills to transition into a role handling comprehensive title research, ownership calculations, and lease management. You will work collaboratively and independently, conducting detailed surface, mineral, and leasehold title research and providing clients with high-quality reports. This role demands a detail-oriented individual who can adapt to changing timelines and priorities to meet project goals effectively.

The ideal candidate will have a background in property law or a related field, with the skills to transition into a role handling comprehensive title research, ownership calculations, and lease management. You will work collaboratively and independently, conducting detailed surface, mineral, and leasehold title research and providing clients with high-quality reports. This role demands a detail-oriented individual who can adapt to changing timelines and priorities to meet project goals effectively.
Responsibilities
- Conduct research of county records to determine surface and mineral ownership using online databases from local county courthouses.
- Analyze and document research findings, selecting relevant information for reports prepared for clients.
- Meet specific deadlines, daily and weekly, to accommodate both internal and client needs.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by management based on evolving business needs.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in title or mineral research or related property law experience relevant to land rights.
- Familiarity with property rights and ownership research, ideally within regions with energy projects or similar resource-based industries.
- An advanced degree in Law (Juris Doctorate or equivalent) or a degree in Energy Management may be considered if paired with relevant job experience in title or mineral research.
- Proven ability to manage specific deadlines, both daily and weekly, to meet internal and client needs.
- Capacity to work independently and manage tasks with minimal supervision.
- Strong professional communication skills (written and verbal) with diverse levels of management and clients.
- Proficiency in Google Docs and Sheets, as well as Adobe Acrobat for documentation and reporting.
