Summary

The Data Analytics Lead will be championing initiatives that would empower the business with data-driven insights, with focus on driving acquisition, cross-sell, and retention results. This role will be leading the team who will be the overall accountable in the end-to-end data lifecycle – from data acquisition, transformation, data management, and most especially reporting and insights generation.

Responsibilities

  • Conceptualize and implement the team’s short- and long-term data-driven initiatives aligned with the Digital Engagements and Analytics team plans, while all aiming for the company’s success using data-driven insights.
  • Work with the Head of Digital Engagements and Analytics, senior leadership team, and business units to evolve the culture to become more data-led and insights-based.
  • Accountable in ensuring that all data products (data warehouse, dashboards, extracts, and other insight generating products using data) are correct (95% accuracy level or higher) in terms of collection, transformation, and analysis
  • Manage and build relationships with data platform owners and support teams. Oversee the implementation of SLAs or data agreements ensuring on-time and accurate data capture and availability in data lake for business intelligence and insighting.
  • Manage and build relationships with business groups and enabling them in their insight analytics, to help better inform decisions on driving acquisition, cross-sell and retention results.
  • Oversees the implementation of metrics and reports to monitor the company’s KPIs and data quality daily.
  • To lead, motivate, retain, and mentor the team of data engineer, data quality analyst, and data analyst. Actively develop and support the ongoing professional development of the team, including conducting annual appraisal reviews and learning development plan for all line reports.
  • To ensure that the workload of the team are manageable, monitored and prioritized.

Qualifications

  • At least 8 years of experience in data analytics with proven experience in enabling businesses with data-driven insights
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in insurance industry
  • Data management and analytics related skill is a must (SQL, SAS, R and/or Python)
  • Proven leadership and people management experience, with organizational and planning skills
  • Able to perform effectively under pressure with good personal organization, time management and prioritization skills
  • Familiarity with JIRA and Agile methodologies is a plus
  • Has the ability to display flexibility to teams and adapt plan, approach and behavior to the different
  • needs, cultures, and situations
  • Strong experience in developing high performing data teams and people development
