Role: Business Director
Location: Manila, Philippines
About the role:
You will be a strong Business Director working as an integral part of OLIVER across multiple accounts.
This is an integrated role, involving managing process and operations with an oversight across market specific digital requirement. As OLIVER’s business model means that we put bespoke studios on-site, it is important that you respect and understand the complexities around working hand-in-hand with clients on a regular basis.
Experience in and a strong passion for championing and managing large size teams across digital capabilities with a fully integrated channel mix is a must. As well as having experience working on clients producing both local and global content.
You should be a strong strategic thinker, with an agency background. You will be working closely with clients as a long-term business partner, steering the development of their brand and building relationships with Brand Director’s and Brand VP’s.
This role requires a courteous, positive and high-energy individual with great people skills. Someone who works hard, but has fun with it and who can demonstrate a proven track record of driving teams to deliver for clients. You should have a meticulous attention to detail, establishing yourself as a safe pair of hands, ensuring nothing falls through the cracks.

What you will be doing:
- Building strong relationships with all clients, from brand execs and managers through to directors and VP’s
- Main point of contact for each Marketing Manager. You will work in partnership with them to provide credible business solutions
- Escalation point for the client for any issues with your teams, you will need to be a problem solver that deals with problems with a solution based attitude
- You will be confident with clients and will challenge the client when necessary, whilst keeping a positive relationship. You negotiate to create win-win compromises with your clients on behalf of you team members where needed
- You will ensure each team delivers to the expected levels of client service at all times
- Lead the APAC business by example, line managing all people within the account
- Motivating, coaching and driving your teams to constantly add value to our clients in order to break the norm and deliver outstanding creative work
- You will be responsible for the guidance and development of your team so it is essential you are a great communicator, able to inspire your team and spot potential
- You will have oversight of your teams WIPs and knowledge of projects going through the business at a high level, without being pulled into the day to day management of projects. The ability to direct teams to deliver, without getting caught up in the detail.
- Responsible for growing all the business offering, pushing our capabilities and expanding headcount
- You will actively seek out opportunities with brands and build relationships with senior clients, pushing to upsell our offering
- Follow refined processes for OLIVER and push teams to work to the processes set out, but have the ability to challenge process to ensure teams are working as efficiently and effectively as possible
- Manage the P&L for the business and forecast operational income on a weekly basis to senior management
- Deliver on requests from Senior management across the business (Asia and UK/Global teams)
- Heavy people management skills are critical – from timely interviews with speedy decisions for new hires, to on time probationary reviews and feedback, to seamless setting up and closure of all KRAs and PDP plans for your team.
- Ensuring 100% operational agility for all members on your team within the OLIVER ecosystem.
- Hybrid of people management with client management. A majority of which is establishing processes and presenting MIs and QBRs to key stakeholders at google.
- Conducting client QBRs, delivering monthly information packs on time and with quality and ensuring overall success of the business.
- You will also be a critical part of pitching for new biz in the India merit, therefore pitching and new biz conversion rates are a critical feature of this role.
- Relevant agency work experience.
- Previous experience leading teams of over 20 people.
- A strong grounding in operations, commercial running of accounts, bank and stretch and P&L.
- Strong gravitas and the ability to build relationships with senior clients, building trust in our offering.
- A team player with a client centric focus and possess the ability to build strong and effective working relationships with your teams and colleagues.
- Regional Asia experience.
