Equity Research Analyst

The Research Group supports and complements BDO's securities, private banking, investment banking, and treasury businesses by providing insights needed by investors, institutions, and corporate looking to make informed financial decisions.

The Equity Research Analyst is responsible for preparing equity research reports with the objective of providing investors with relevant and actionable investment ideas. The Analyst will also provide marketing support for BDO’s institutional and retail clients subject to industry regulations and internal compliance standards.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Initiate, perform, and maintain fundamental analysis of stocks and other securities to determine suitability for investment. Fundamental analysis includes review of financial statements, construction of financial models, inter and intra sector comparisons, and assessment of industry and macro-economic trends.
• Monitoring of industry and macro-economic trends through publicly available information, interviews with company managements, channel checks with third parties, etc.
• Communication of analysis and recommendations via written reports.
• Maintenance of accurate and updated documentation of reports, financial models, and databases needed to sustain the research product.
• Helps prepare the regular Market and Equity presentation briefings to retail and institutional clients.
• Involvement in marketing activities in support of BDO's various businesses as well as other duties as assigned or requested subject to industry regulations and internal compliance standards.

Qualifications:

• Strong academic background with Bachelor's Degree in accounting, business management, economics, financial mathematics, or other financial related area preferred
• Experience in financial analysis and data mining is an advantage
• Good oral and written communication skills
• Experienced with MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
