We are seeking an experienced Web Developer to revamp and manage our e-commerce website, www.shoponlineu.com , which sells petrol-grade tools and patio heaters. The website is currently built on WordPress using WooCommerce, and we are planning a comprehensive overhaul to improve customer experience, optimize for Google algorithms, and introduce new features.
This role involves not only building the revamped site but also providing ongoing maintenance to ensure it remains updated, secure, and high-performing.
We are also looking for someone who can contribute creative ideas and suggestions to help us build out specific sections of the website for maximum usability and customer engagement.
Key Responsibilities:
Website Revamp:
Redesign and rebuild the website to optimize for:
Seamless customer purchasing experience.
Google's algorithm (SEO, mobile responsiveness, Core Web Vitals).
Add a back-end section for wholesalers to:
Log in securely.
Access wholesale pricing.
View and reorder from past orders.
Create a Spare Parts section where customers can:
Search for spare parts by model number or category.
View product details with compatibility notes.
Develop a Video Library section for:
Installation guides.
Troubleshooting videos.
Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
Build a Used Products section where:
Customers can view discounted used items.
Listings display original price, discounted price, and item condition.
Ongoing Maintenance:
Ensure fast loading times and mobile responsiveness.
Update plugins, themes, and WordPress core regularly.
Monitor performance and security using tools like Wordfence, WP Rocket, and Google PageSpeed Insights.
Add new products, videos, and other content as needed.
Manage the Used Products section to ensure inventory is updated.
Troubleshoot and resolve issues promptly.
Creative Input:
Provide ideas and suggestions on:
Structuring the Used Products and Spare Parts sections.
Organizing and presenting the Video Library for maximum engagement.
Optimizing the site layout for wholesalers and retail customers.
Enhancing the site's overall design and functionality.
Skills and Qualifications:
Proven experience in WordPress and WooCommerce development.
Strong knowledge of SEO best practices and Google algorithm optimization.
Proficiency in creating custom plugins or modifying existing ones.
Experience with video integration and e-commerce functionality.
Familiarity with tools like WP Rocket, Yoast SEO, and PartsFinder (or similar).
Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
Ability to provide actionable, creative input on website design and functionality.
Job Type:

Compensation:

Payment will be structured as:
A fixed fee for the website revamp.
Monthly retainer for ongoing maintenance.
