We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented HR Specialist to join our Human Resources team. The HR Specialist will support various HR functions, including employee relations, benefits administration, training and development, and compliance. The ideal candidate will be a proactive problem solver with excellent communication skills and a passion for fostering a positive workplace culture.

What you’ll be doing:

Employee Relations:

  • Assist the HR Manager as a point of contact for employees on HR-related inquiries, ensuring a high level of customer service
  • Assist in managing employee relations issues, including conflict resolution, performance management, and disciplinary actions
  • Support HR team initiatives to maintain a positive, inclusive, and respectful work environment
  • Help organize and execute employee engagement activities, events, and recognition programs

Employee Lifecycle:

  • Be in charge of the onboarding and offboarding process of employees
  • Conduct New Hire Orientations in-person or virtually
  • Conduct exit interviews and the exit clearance process
  • Provide process improvement recommendations in the onboarding and offboarding process

Benefits Administration:

  • Assist in administering the company’s total rewards program
  • Assist employees with benefits inquiries, including eligibility, coverage options, and claim issues
  • Maintain accurate records of employee benefits enrollments, changes, and terminations
  • Support the overall benefits administration, ensuring that employees are informed of their options and deadlines
  • Regularly disseminate information about company and government benefits

Labor Relations, Policy Review, and Development:

  • Be knowledgeable of labor laws to avoid and de-escalate issues when they arise
  • Address collective employee grievances and disputes if any
  • Review and assist in the implementation of company policies
  • Create and draft memos and company announcements
  • Regularly review company policies, alongside the HR Manager, Operations Managers, and COO to ensure policies are up-to-date and in accordance with local employment laws.

Training & Development:

  • Support employee development initiatives, including performance reviews and career development programs
  • Create programs, if needed, to support employees’ professional development.

HR Compliance & Reporting:

  • Ensure HR practices are in compliance with local labor laws and regulations
  • Help prepare and maintain accurate employee records, including personnel files and HR documentation, in accordance with legal and company requirements
  • Assist with HR-related audits, reporting, and maintaining internal HR metrics to track progress and ensure compliance
  • Assist with the development and implementation of HR policies and procedures
  • Prepare HR reports including but not limited to attrition reports and compliance reports, etc.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field. SHRM-CP or PHR certification is a plus but not required
  • At least 1 year of experience in an HR role
  • Knowledge of labor laws, HR best practices, and regulations
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and HRIS software
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion
  • Problem-solving abilities and the capacity to handle employee issues in a professional and empathetic manner
