  1. Make sure the webpage is open.
  2. In the Safari app on your Mac, choose Safari > Preferences, then click Security.
  3. Make sure the Enable JavaScript checkbox is selected.
  4. Click Websites.
  5. On the left, click Content Blockers.
  6. Make sure Off is chosen in the pop-up menu next to the website.
  7. On the left, click Pop-up Windows.
  8. Make sure Allow is chosen in the pop-up menu next to the website.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Manage, research, and write internal news content on behalf of the international consulting arm;
  • Research and write engaging project briefs (requires turning key aspects and results of detailed reports into briefs comprehensible to a general audience), news items, and impact stories from around the globe;
  • Interview project managers, team leaders, experts, clients or beneficiaries to produce impact stories on NIRAS-implemented projects;
  • Liaise with our project managers for internal and external communications;
  • Proofread or edit reports and other knowledge products written in English;
  • Occasionally support content creation for our social media (i.e., LinkedIn).

Requirements

  • With an educational background or experience in journalism, development communications, marketing, or literature;
  • 1-3 years of work experience. Fresh graduates are welcome;
  • Highly proficient in written and spoken English;
  • Having initiative is a must. We are looking for an independent and self-motivated worker who can collaborate with a global team, meet deadlines, and deliver fast turnaround when needed;
  • Ability and openness to work with foreign language speakers within a multi-cultural organization;
  • A love for good (and accurate!) storytelling.

Preferred but not required

  • Proficiency in social media management;
  • Experience in transcribing or writing scripts for videos;
  • Basic knowledge about implementing a communications strategy or marketing campaign.

Note: A trade test will be conducted as part of the recruitment process to assess technical skills and qualifications.
