Position Overview
- This post holder will maintain and improve the current BAU processes in operation. To provide industry standard business insight (BI) capabilities in relation to 1GLOBAL's various business activities, supporting real time management information.
- Support Finance revenue recognition, revenue assurance and reconciliation.
- Evangelize the effective use of BI, tools, data, and practices, deliver planned BI solutions to on-time, on-quality constraints
- Participate in the production, rollout and support of BI related solutions according to an agreed work-plan.
- Participate in development and upgrade of 1GLOBAL's BI applications, systems and environment
- You will work as part of the BI team expected to deliver right first time analytical insight across specific areas of responsibility and be able to boil-down complex data scenarios and analytical findings into actionable information packs for Exec and Management consumption
- You will also support cultural transformation across the business in terms of improved data governance, accuracy and management whilst enriching business insight and providing focused actionable information.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide operational support to BI's B2B2C and month end support
- Provide support to daily ETL monitoring and issue resolution, take ownership on maintaining ETL packages and jobs running smoothly on BAU environment
- Responsible for providing 1GLOBAL Commercial and Wholesale Costs analysis insight.
- Support business users during requirements, testing & uptake phases to ensure effective adoption of BI solutions.
- Establishment, care and feeding of an increasingly diverse central repository of business data
- Work with internal customers to ensure results are communicated and used effectively
- Apply BI best practice in your specific business area
- Assure data quality and promote effective business rules to preserve and protect data assets.
- Create tools supporting enhanced BI self-service
Must Have
- 2-5 years' experience in business intelligence, data science, data analytics in a corporate environment
- University degree in one of following disciplines: accounting, finance, science, and technology
- Good experience of using Microsoft SQL Server and functionality (SSMS, SSIS, SSAS, job, Stored Procedures) and SQL Query language
- Advance Microsoft Excel skills including PowerPivot or Power BI
- Able to transform data into information into insight into action
- Ability to work flexibly within a team fulfilling an end-to-end range of BI delivery tasks
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, able to adopt both technical and non-technical language.
- Ability to multi-task & prioritise whilst maintaining focus on each project
- Strong team-working ethos, self-starter; experience in working within fast-paced and agile organisations
- Able to work in a mix of Agile BI and Waterfall BI approaches
- Some exposure to AWS or Azure technologies
Nice to Have
- Experience in accounting, financial data, processes, and reporting
- Experience in Accounting systems and CRM systems
- Mobile Telecoms experience
- Good organisation, reporting, presentation, and facilitation skills
- Working with AWS data in practice
- Program and scripting language including C#, VB, R, Python etc
- Strong numeracy and analytical skills
