Role Definition
The Data Governance function is overall responsible for DM policies & standards, DM training & enablement, data definition and data lineage. This function also supports other DM capability function, such as data ownership & stewardship, data quality, master data, reference data, among others.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for the management and implementation of DM policies and standards, including creation, update, maintenance and approval.
- Manages the enterprise data definition and lineage together with Data Owners, Data Stewards and relevant SME, including creation, update, maintenance and approval in target platform (i.e. TDC)
- Responsible for DM enablement, knowledge and training including providing guidance on DM best practices and guidelines and conducting DM enablement sessions.
- Implements data ownership and stewardship together with DM sponsors, including overseeing data council sessions and supporting the maintenance of data owners & stewards list.
- Ensures compliance to data privacy and security standards, including internal and external auditory requirements.
- Supports the governance and implementation of data quality, master data management and reference data management.
- Leads, drives or supports multiple DM owned initiatives, including transition to the data mesh model in the target cloud platform, implementation of golden master data platform and maturity improvement & data quality remediation initiatives.
