Job Description
We are looking for aTrust Accountantto primarily focus on Trust Accounting, being responsible for overseeing trust accounts and ensuring to records a trust receipt and payment, periodically prepares and complete the trust reports that comply with the statutory requirements and the law firm practices. Coordinating internally with colleagues in various departments.
You will be responsible for:
- Monitor the trust accounts bank balance daily
- Work closely with the Conveyancer to ensure the recording of the claimed deposit is accurate
- Create client trust ledger
- Record the deposit and payment into the client trust ledger
- Monitor trust balances of settled files and identity dormant files
- Check and process trust releases through electronic fund transfer
- Prepare necessary month-end trust reports, ensuring timely delivery of reports to authorized signatories
- Do trust bank accounts reconciliation daily
- Trust documentation of client trust related transactions
- Report and update to Team Lead on any trust issues encountered by the team for resolution
- Perform other tasks assigned by Management
With a completedBachelor’s Degree in Accounting and/or Financial Management you will have:
- At least 2-3 years of working experience; Trust experience is desirable
- Preferably withexperience working in a real estate management environment
- Highly proficient in Microsoft Office(Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams) and other accounting systems such as Xero, Netsuite, etc.
- Exceptional communication skills both written and verbal, ability to converse with all levels of stakeholders
- Self motivated with a desire to learn
- Highly organised with the ability to work under pressure and within set deadlines
- Ability to adapt to and embrace change in a fast-paced environment
- High problem-solving ability, and ability to identify opportunities and solutions to improve processes
- High aptitude and growth mindset
