As a Platform & In-store Expansion Lead, you will drive business expansion, market penetration, and revenue acceleration for PayMongo’s platform partners and in-store payment solutions. You will work at the intersection of strategy, business development, and product innovation, ensuring that our merchant solutions are not just adopted but also scaled efficiently. This role will require a deep understanding of financial platforms and ecosystems, merchant networks, and offline payment infrastructure, coupled with an ability to translate insights into actionable strategies that fuel long-term growth.
Key Responsibilities:
- Growth Strategy & Business Expansion. Define and execute growth strategies for expanding PayMongo’s presence in platform businesses and in-store retail payments. Identify new market opportunities and develop entry strategies for increasing merchant activation and transaction volumes. Lead competitive benchmarking and industry analysis to refine PayMongo’s positioning in the payments landscape. Develop and optimize go-to-market playbooks that accelerate merchant adoption.
- Platform & Marketplace Expansion. Build strategic partnerships with marketplaces, SaaS platforms, and aggregators, ensuring PayMongo is integrated as their preferred Financial OS provider. Work closely with the product and engineering teamsto optimize API integrations and payment workflows, ensuring a seamless merchant experience. Design scalable monetization strategies to maximize transaction revenue from platform merchants.
- Offline Payments & In-Store Adoption. Develop market-entry frameworks for scaling PayMongo’s in-store payment solutions. Collaborate with retail networks, distributors, and business aggregators to expand in-store merchant adoption. Work cross-functionally with operations to ensure seamless deployment and adoption of offline payment solutions.
- Account Management & Merchant Success. Own the full sales cycle—from prospecting and pitching to closing deals and managing long-term partnerships. Serve as the key relationship manager for platform accounts, ensuring high merchant satisfaction, retention, and revenue optimization. Identify opportunities for upselling and cross-selling additional PayMongo services to existing merchants. Conduct regular performance reviews with merchants, leveraging data-driven insights to identify growth opportunities. Work with various cross functional teams to ensure a seamless customer experience, taking ownership of resolving merchant issues and challenges and identifying opportunities for product development. Develop a deep understanding of merchant pain points and relay feedback to product and operations teams to continuously refine PayMongo’s offerings.
- Data-Driven Decision Making & Revenue Optimization. Own and track key performance metrics, including merchant activation rates, transaction growth, and retention. Leverage data analytics and merchant insights to refine growth strategies and drive sustainable revenue. Continuously assess pricing models, incentive structures, and product-market fit to optimize business performance.
