Accounting and Finance Planning Head

Job Description

Financial Planning and Analysis:

• Develop and implement comprehensive financial plans and forecasts.
• Analyze financial data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities.
• Prepare detailed financial reports and presentations for management.
• Conduct variance analysis and provide insightful commentary on financial performance.

Accounting and Reporting:

• Oversee the entire accounting cycle, including journal entries, reconciliations, and financial statement preparation.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant accounting standards (e.g., GAAP, IFRS).
• Manage the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes.
• Prepare accurate and timely financial reports for internal and external stakeholders.

Reconciliations:

• Lead the reconciliation process for all balance sheet accounts.
• Identify and resolve reconciliation discrepancies promptly.
• Implement effective controls to prevent and detect errors.
• Regulatory Compliance and Reporting:
• Ensure adherence to all relevant regulatory requirements, including those imposed by the BSP (Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas), SEC and Insurance Commission.
• Prepare and submit accurate and timely regulatory reports.
• Collaborate with internal and external auditors to facilitate smooth audits and address audit findings.

Financial Systems and Processes:

• Implement and maintain robust financial systems and processes.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
• Stay up-to-date with industry best practices and emerging technologies.

Team Management:

• Recruit, develop, and lead a high-performing finance team.
• Provide coaching, mentorship, and performance feedback to team members.
• Foster a positive and collaborative work environment.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in accounting, finance, and financial planning.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial analysis techniques.
• Proficiency in financial software (e.g., GL systems, budgeting tools).
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
• CPA certification or equivalent.
• Master's degree in Business Administration or related field.
• Experience in a multinational or fast-paced environment.
• Knowledge of industry-specific accounting standards and regulations.
• Experience with data analytics and business intelligence tools.
