ROLE SUMMARY

Our client is looking for a highly motivated and talented Bookkeeper for their Nonprofit team. This role must be a natural problem-solver and a purposeful communicator. He/She also understands accounting fundamentals, has exceptional client-facing communication skills, and thrives in a small business setting.

WORK SCHEDULE: 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM Eastern Standard Time (10:00 PM – 7:00 AM Philippine Standard Time), follows Philippine holidays

POSITION TYPE: Full Time

WORK ARRANGEMENT: Remote

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Use aptitude for detail orientation to record and classify financial account activity in accounting systems (mainly QuickBooks Online) and process payroll
  • Perform accounts payable and record all vendor invoices and prepare bill payments
  • Perform accounts receivable and prepare customer invoices or sales receipts, receive payments, and follow up on aging receivables
  • Handle monthly reconciliations and reporting
  • Use meticulous organization skills to ensure the proper documentation and notes are submitted to accounting systems and client records
  • Help people daily through direct communication with the clients
  • Learn and grow expertise in new accounting platforms and software

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in the related field is preferred
  • Have at least 1 year of accounting and/or bookkeeping for a nonprofit organization, including Grant experience
  • A time blocking/calendar champion, having experience working with multiple sets of books at one time (for example: bookkeeping for clients with a CPA firm)
  • Used QuickBooks Online (QBO) within the last 5 years
  • FACTS software expertise, church bookkeeping, student billing experience, and multi-client experience is a plus
  • A knack for working with multiple clients on their bookkeeping and accounting needs
  • Proactive, positive, prepared, purposeful, protective, and principled
  • Excited to learn new technology and resourceful in coming up with solutions
  • Strong organization, oral and written communication skills
  • Analytical skills with particular attention to detail
  • A team player and effective problem-solver
