We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Solar Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in solar energy systems, with expertise in installation, implementation, and project management. This role requires not only technical proficiency but also exceptional interpersonal and leadership skills to effectively manage teams and ensure the successful delivery of solar projects.

Reporting Relationship

Directly reports to the Project Manager / President

Key Responsibilities

Project Planning and Management

  • Oversee the planning, design, and execution of solar energy projects from conception to completion.
  • Develop project timelines, budgets, and resource plans, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Coordinate with stakeholders, including clients, contractors, and suppliers.

Installation and Implementation

  • Lead the installation and commissioning of solar energy systems, ensuring compliance with design specifications and safety standards.
  • Conduct site assessments and feasibility studies to optimize system performance.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues during and after installation.

Team Leadership and Collaboration

  • Manage and mentor installation teams, providing technical guidance and support.
  • Foster effective communication between team members to ensure smooth project execution.
  • Handle conflicts and motivate the team to achieve project goals.

Quality Assurance and Compliance

  • Ensure all projects adhere to relevant regulations, codes, and standards.
  • Perform quality control checks to maintain high standards of workmanship.
  • Monitor system performance and implement improvements as needed.

Client Relations

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, addressing inquiries and providing updates on project progress.
  • Educate clients on system operations and maintenance.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy or a related field.
  • License Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • Proven experience in solar energy system installation, implementation, and project management.
  • Strong understanding of solar technologies, electrical systems, and relevant industry standards.
  • Excellent leadership and people management skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment and independently.
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficient in project management tools and software.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certifications in solar energy systems (e.g. NABCEP, PVSI NC II, PV System Design NC III, or equivalent).
  • Knowledge of local regulations and permits related to solar projects.
