Data Research and Validation Specialist - Short-term Contract (4-8 weeks)

Schedule
  • 40 hours per week
  • Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM, Melbourne time, with 1-hour unpaid break

Project Overview

We're seeking a detail-oriented data researcher to assist with a comprehensive retail location validation project across Australia and New Zealand.

Work with our client to validate and enrich a dataset of approximately 3,000 retail locations, ensuring accuracy of geographical and retail precinct information. This role is crucial for maintaining data integrity in our retail location database.

Key Responsibilities
  • Validate and update location data including country, state, city, and postcode information
  • Classify retail locations by precinct type (shopping centres, retail parks, outlet centers)
  • Create and maintain a master list of shopping centre locations with corresponding landlord information
  • Categorize approximately 200 customers by primary and secondary product offerings
  • Conduct thorough desktop research using various online resources

Requirements

Required Skills:
  • Strong analytical capabilities with advanced Excel proficiency
  • Proven experience in conducting detailed internet research
  • Exceptional attention to detail and data accuracy
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to work independently
  • Experience handling large datasets

Preferred Qualifications
  • Familiarity with Australian and New Zealand geography and retail landscape
  • Previous experience in retail or real estate data management
  • Experience with data validation and enrichment projects
