  6. Make sure Off is chosen in the pop-up menu next to the website.
  7. On the left, click Pop-up Windows.
  8. Make sure Allow is chosen in the pop-up menu next to the website.

Overview: We are building a dynamic new team in the Philippines focused on automating the ingestion of data and videos into our backend systems. This is an exciting opportunity to lead a team of engineers in a role that blends technical expertise with team leadership, as we move from manual processes to a more automated, efficient workflow. You’ll work closely with our European team and the content management team to shape the future of our backend systems, ensuring that we can handle large-scale data inputs from various sources seamlessly.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team of 3-4 engineers, guiding them through the design, architecture, and development phases of the project.
  • Oversee and manage the full development lifecycle from planning and coding to testing and deployment.
  • Collaborate with European colleagues and internal stakeholders to define technical requirements and ensure project success.
  • Act as a technical mentor and provide senior-level guidance to the team members, ensuring best practices in coding, testing, and architecture.
  • Drive automation efforts to improve the ingestion of data, videos, and other content into the backend systems, with a focus on scalability and efficiency.
  • Ensure the development team is using the most effective tools, frameworks, and technologies (including existing APIs) to meet our automation goals.
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement and innovation within the team.
  • Be hands-on when needed, helping with complex issues and ensuring the team meets deadlines.

Who We Are Looking For:

  • A senior-level professional with strong leadership skills and extensive experience in managing development teams.
  • You’ll have a proven track record of designing and developing backend systems and APIs, with a passion for automation and video processing.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work closely with diverse teams across different time zones.
  • A solid understanding of the full software development lifecycle, including Agile methodologies.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Years of Experience: 5+ years in software development, with at least 2 years in a Tech Lead role.
  • Technical Expertise:
  • Strong proficiency in one or more of the following programming languages: NodeJS (TypeScript, JavaScript), Python (preferred), Go, or Rust (acceptable).
  • Solid understanding of backend development, API design, and microservices architecture.
  • Experience with GitLab/GitHub, JIRA, Agile methodologies, and OpenAPI/Swagger.
  • Experience with Cloud Services (AWS, Azure, Oracle, Google) and containerization (Docker).
  • Basic understanding of Linux, Postman, and video processing is a plus.
  • Leadership & Communication:
  • Proven ability to lead a team, provide mentorship, and deliver high-quality work on time.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment with teams across different regions.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound technical decisions.

Preferred:

  • Previous experience in building scalable backend systems that handle large volumes of data and content.
  • Experience in the gaming, media, or content management industry is a plus.
  • Familiarity with QA processes and team coordination for content management tasks.
