Job Description

As a Medical Scribe in our dynamic occupational therapy practice, you’ll play a crucial role in streamlining clinical documentation and supporting our therapist in delivering exceptional patient care. Responsibilities

  • Transform therapist’s handwritten notes into comprehensive SOAP format clinical documentation
  • Compile and format detailed functional capacity assessment reports using provided templates
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient files in our digital system
  • Assist in drafting and sending service agreements to clients
  • Collaborate with the therapist to organize digital files and manage email correspondence effectively
  • Prepare and format various medical reports and documents as needed
  • Support appointment confirmation processes to ensure smooth scheduling
  • Contribute to general administrative tasks that enhance practice operations

Requirements

  • Proven experience in medical transcription or as a medical scribe, ideally within mental health or allied health fields
  • Comprehensive understanding of medical terminology and abbreviations, particularly in occupational therapy and mental health
  • Exceptional typing speed and accuracy, with a keen eye for detail
  • Proficiency in digital record-keeping systems and data entry
  • Familiarity with SOAP note format and experience in compiling functional capacity assessments
  • Outstanding written communication skills with the ability to convey complex medical information clearly
  • Strong commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and adhering to privacy regulations
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a remote setting
  • Willingness to learn about NDIS processes and requirements
  • Flexibility to adapt to evolving practice needs and potentially increase hours in the future
