The Proposal Engineer is to provide pre-sales support to inside and outside sales representatives, provide detailed quotations, and quote status follow-up. You are expected to assist and work with sales to select the accurate product and generate complex and straightforward quotes to promote the customer purchasing experience from Energy and Transportation Solutions.
For This Role, You Will Need:
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Instrumentation, and Control Engineering, or any other related degree with the appropriate experience.
- Minimum 2-3 years of experience in process control from at least one target industry – Oil and Gas, Refining, or other related process control industries
- Knowledge of Instrumentation Engineering Principles.
- Experience in MS Office Suite
Preferred Qualifications that Set You Apart:
- Experience in sales and quotation processes, business tools, operational metrics, and key performance indicators is an advantage.
In this role, your responsibilities will be:
- Participating in preparing the quotation package and ensuring it is sent to the customer as promised, which includes the technical, commercial, and competitive strategy appropriate for the selling opportunity.
- Generating and selecting model numbers based on customers' specific data and creating product model options, configuration ranges, and documentation options.
- Applying business system tools, i.e. Oracle and CRM Cloud to provide customer product applications and review solutions as the need arises with Sales.
- Responding to inquiries from sales and customers received by telephone or e-mail. Qualify all queries to ensure we offer customers the best solutions.
- Maintaining and updating all relevant ETS MEA KOB3 Tracking Tools
- Assisting Outside Sales in improving quote-to-order hit rate via quote status follow-up.
- Assisting the order admin team during the post-order booking process, i.e. following up on the status of the orders.
- Continuing to improve knowledge of ETS products, applications, and industries served.
- Implementing local and international Emerson trade compliance procedures concerning all transactions and business practices.
- Fulfilling any other reasonable duties as the need arises.
