Financial Budgeting

The Financial Analyst in the Financial Budgeting team performs analytical/ technical tasks under set directions, policies, guidelines and procedures; provides technical advice by interpreting and applying functional philosophies, principles and policies in implementing parts of or major processes in Budgeting:

  • Prepares and manages Meralco’s annual budget and 5-year consolidated financial plan
  • Processes budget/financial plan revisions
  • Monitors and analyzes actual performance versus the previous year and budget (Parent Company and Subsidiaries)
  • Assists organizations/ subsidiaries in financial studies that require forecasting revenues and expenses to arrive at business or investment decisions and pricing strategies

Financial Reporting

The Financial Analyst in the Financial Reporting team performs financial functions related to the monthly closing of books, consolidation of financial statements, analysis of balance sheet and income statement accounts, and preparation of financial and other regulatory reports. The role's general responsibilities include:

  • Participates in the monthly closing activities such as expense accruals, foreign exchange revaluation, depreciation run and consolidation of the Company and subsidiaries financial statements.
  • Analyzes monthly and year to date fluctuations of balance sheet and income statements accounts.
  • Prepares monthly financial reports
  • Prepares the consolidated financial statements and SEC Forms 17Q/17A on a quarterly and annual basis for submission to the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and Philippine Stock Exchange (PSE).

TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES:

  • SAP

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Certified Public Accountant
  • Financial Reporting Analyst: A minimum of 5 years of experience in a related field is required
  • Financial Budgeting Analyst: Newly licensed accountants are encouraged to apply
  • Strong analytical and communication skills
  • Detail-oriented
  • Proficiency in excel, word and power point presentation
  • Problem solving skills
  • Must be willing for an on-site work arrangement in Ortigas, Pasig City
