Job Summary:
The Paralegal provides support and assistance to the Group Legal Head in the prompt, effective and efficient delivery of legal services to all Companies within the Group.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Prepare Board Resolution and/or Secretary's Certificates and other legal documents as per instruction of the Group Legal Head.
- Draft, revise, organize, and review legal documents such as complaints, affidavits, agreements, corporate, documents, and applications to Government agencies.
- Responsible for filling, monitoring, and updating of legal documents to different government agencies.
- Carry-out legal research aimed at finding out precedent cases relevant to current corporate cases, relevant statutes, court decisions, legal articles, etc.
- Monitors, files, and follow-up the status of cases with the Municipal Trial Courts, Regional Trial Courts, Court of Appeals, Supreme Courts, and other legal institutions.
- Coordinates with the Sheriff to facilitate the attachment, execution, or enforcement of court decisions.
- Coordinates with external legal counsel for monitoring updates of cases being handled by them and in scheduling meetings with them.
- Provides assistance in legal meetings by Preparing the Agenda, setting, hosting and taking the Minutes of the Meetings, for review and approval of the Group Legal Head.
Qualifications:
- Must have 15 to 20 years of work experience as a Paralegal with a Law Firm.
- Knowledgeable about legal procedures and can assist the legal counsel in the preparation of legal documents.
- Preferably a Law graduate (J.D. or LL.B.)
- With good coordination skills and able to give feedback on the status of cases until completion and closure.
- Meticulous at work and very keen to details
- Must be highly organized and with good filing skills.
- Analytical thinker with strong conceptual and research skills
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- Above average oral and written communication skills and can deal well with all levels people inside and outside the company.
- Computer literate, able to maintain a good Legal Database.
- Willing to work face-to-face in Makati.
