  1. Make sure the webpage is open.
  2. In the Safari app on your Mac, choose Safari > Preferences, then click Security.
  3. Make sure the Enable JavaScript checkbox is selected.
  4. Click Websites.
  5. On the left, click Content Blockers.
  6. Make sure Off is chosen in the pop-up menu next to the website.
  7. On the left, click Pop-up Windows.
  8. Make sure Allow is chosen in the pop-up menu next to the website.

Rappler is looking for a full-time, NCR-based community and civic engagement specialist for MovePH, the civic engagement arm of Rappler. MovePH connects journalism with communities, for impact. We do this through on-ground events, campaigns, community-driven storytelling, working with partners, and sparking important conversations both online and offline.

A community and civic engagement specialist leads online and onground community building events and advocacy campaigns, and works on solutions- and community-focused content. These advocacies touch on countering disinformation and promoting media and information literacy, active civic engagement, DRRM, among others. They’re also expected to work with community leaders and coalitions to help advance these advocacies.

Must-haves:

  • At least 2 years of professional experience in campaigns organizing and mobilization both onground and online
  • Previous experience conceptualizing, leading, and implementing online or offline advocacy campaigns and events (preferably both)
  • Has experience with event management and implementation (e.g logistics, etc)
  • Has experience identifying, working, and engaging with organizations and key community leaders
  • Good writing and people skills
  • Resourceful, agile, and quick to think on one’s feet
  • Used to working with a team
  • Transparent, communicative work ethic and excellent time management

    • Big pluses:

    • Is familiar with, has background in, and experience with, media and information literacy, countering disinformation
    • Is updated on news, issues, digital trends
    • Part of advocacy circles and networks

    Ideal start date is March 2025.
