Core responsibilities:
- Developing revenue projections, analysing in-depth customer data, and identifying risks and opportunities to support financial decision making.
- Extracting data from multiple sources and systems to assist with monthly revenue forecasts.
- Investigating forecast to actuals variances with root cause problem identification and resolution.
- Tracking and auditing near term and long-term delivery of delayed revenue recognition.
- Tracking and analyzing end of month journal entries.
- Analyzing sales forecast and revenue data for trending, errors, or other insights.
- Developing ad-hoc financial modeling, analysis, and reporting based on business needs.
- Quickly developing an understanding of Deltek objectives to effectively play a key role as a business partner.
- Collaborating with FP&A, G/L Accounting, and International Accounting colleagues.
- Identifying and executing on process improvement, automation and other efficiency opportunities.
Qualifications:
- Finance, accounting, or related degree preferred
- 3-5+ years of experience in revenue forecasting, specifically with recurring revenue business models and using GAAP revenue recognition principles and accounting standards
- Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills with a sense of curiosity and follow through to root problem analysis
- Strong data analysis skills, specifically an ability to work with large data sets
- Flexibility and willingness to take on new responsibilities and assignments as they are identified
- Strong interpersonal skills and communication skills
- Expert Excel skills
- Solid written and verbal communication skills
- Experience with corporate computerized budgeting/accounting systems and multi-dimensional database management tools preferred
- Experience with Salesforce.com reporting preferred
- Experience with correlation analysis and regression analysis preferred
- Machine learning programing experience preferred
