Main Job Purpose
The Laboratory Chemist acts as the overall in-charge of commissioning all laboratory instruments under QA and making sure that these instruments are always ready to be used for production needs. Performs and oversees complex instrumental analyses such as but not limited to NIR, FTIR, HPLC and UV-Vis spectrophotometer. The Laboratory Chemist will also have to validate different analytical methods that are applicable to the needs of the production and will work hand in hand with Quality personnel to ensure that all products of Unilever-BWPC are of the highest quality.
This role works with limited supervision. The Laboratory Chemist will make sure that Critical Control Points and Quality Control Points are being followed. Laboratory Chemist must also know how to recommend the most appropriate test methods as issues arise, including decision to pursue non-standard testing if necessary.

Qualifications And Skills Required
- Graduate of Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Microbiology, Biochemistry
- Preferably Licensed Chemist or Chemical Technician
- Good people handling, coaching, and leadership skills
- Problem solving and data analysis skills
- Presentation skills (well versed in MS Office and Power Apps)
- Reading, comprehension, and communication skills
- Working knowledge in BRC, QMS
- Manufacturing experience in FMCG
