Key Responsibilities
- Database Development: Design, develop, and maintain SQL databases, tables, views, stored procedures, functions, and triggers.
- Query Optimization: Write and optimize complex SQL queries for performance, scalability, and efficiency.
- Data Management: Ensure data integrity, consistency, and security across multiple database environments.
- ETL & Data Integration: Develop and maintain ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) pipelines using SSIS, Talend, or other tools.
- Database Administration Support: Assist in indexing, partitioning, backup strategies, and performance tuning.
- Automation & Scripting: Automate database tasks using SQL scripts, batch processing, or Python.
- Collaboration: Work closely with developers, data analysts, and business intelligence teams to support application and reporting needs.
- Troubleshooting & Maintenance: Monitor database health, troubleshoot performance issues, and ensure high availability.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
- SQL Expertise: Proficiency in T-SQL, PL/SQL, MySQL, PostgreSQL, or other relational databases.
- Database Systems: Experience with Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL, or PostgreSQL.
- Query Optimization: Strong knowledge of indexes, execution plans, stored procedures, and query performance tuning.
- ETL & Data Warehousing: Experience with ETL tools (SSIS, Talend, Informatica) and data warehousing concepts.
- Scripting & Automation: Familiarity with Python, PowerShell, or Shell scripting for database automation.
- Security & Compliance: Understanding of data security, role-based access, and database encryption.
- Soft Skills: Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Experience with cloud-based databases (AWS RDS, Azure SQL, Google BigQuery).
- Knowledge of NoSQL databases (MongoDB, Cassandra) and data lakes.
- Experience with CI/CD for database deployments.
- Familiarity with data visualization and reporting tools (Power BI, Tableau, Looker).
